About the Artist

Craig Sponseller’s passion for art began early, with Saturday classes at the Cleveland Museum of Art, where he immersed himself in sketching sculptures and paintings. In high school, a scholarship to Cooper School of Art helped him refine his skills, and he later earned a degree in Fine and Professional Arts from Ohio State and Kent State University, specializing in Graphic Design.

Craig’s career initially focused on advertising; spending over a decade as co-owner of an agency in Asheville, North Carolina. Driven by a long-held ambition, he later transitioned to sculpting, becoming the head sculptor and product designer for a major Gift and Garden manufacturer. His work has since been featured by prominent brands both nationally and globally.

Now focusing on illustration, Craig captures the natural beauty of Western North Carolina’s flora and fauna using pointillism and watercolor. Known for his attention to detail and originality, his art reflects his love for nature, people, and life itself, bringing each subject to life with depth and authenticity.
